I took the emergency abortion pill..?
I took the pill within in the day after i had sex. I still haven’t gotten my period adn I’m worried I’m pregnant… How long does it take to ‘reprogram’ my cycle?
I took a pregnancy test before I took the pill, test came up neg.
A week or so after i took the pill i took another pregnancy test, and it came up positive. I’m confused that it may be because of the pill that has my hormones all over the place.. and maybe that triggered the positve test?
Temporary disruption of the menstrual cycle is also commonly experienced. If taken before ovulation, the high doses of progestogen in levonorgestrel treatments may induce progestogen withdrawal bleeding a few days after the pills are taken. One study found that about half of women who used levonorgestrel ECPs experienced bleeding within 7 days of taking the pills.
If levonorgestrel is taken after ovulation, it may increase the length of the luteal phase, thus delaying menstruation by a few days. Mifepristone, if taken before ovulation, may delay ovulation by 3–4 days. (Delayed ovulation may result in a delayed menstruation.)
These disruptions only occur in the cycle in which ECPs were taken; subsequent cycle length is not significantly affected. If a woman’s menstrual period is delayed by a week or more, it is advised that she take a pregnancy test. (Earlier testing may not give accurate results.)
A suggestion . . . .
Provoke a period when you are due, it can even work if you are a bit late. You can do this by using Vitamin C.
Take 6-12 grams of ascorbic acid – vitamin C a day for 5-10 days. Specifically ascorbic acid. Do not use vitamin C with bioflaviniods or anything that has Rose-hips in it. Look for the cheap generic brands, they are usually the ones that have pure ascorbic acid. Doses consisting of one 500 mg tablet per hour are most common.
The vitamin C -ascorbic acid- works to produce an unfavorable climate within the uterus so that the egg does not implant, or cannot maintain its grip on the uterine wall. By stimulating estrogen, and possibly interfering with progesterone. Thus making it useful as an emergency contraceptive, when taking it before implantation occurs.
Progesterone is needed to prepare the uterus to receive the egg, the uterine lining builds up each month, and if the egg is not fertilized then this is what becomes the menstrual blood, when the lining is shed to prepare for the next cycle.
How It Works
If you have any questions about it, email me. I have used these methods successfully before. I take 1,000mg every two hours until bleeding commences. You should be waking up every 4 hours and taking your missed doses at night, this ensures that you have a constant level of ascorbic acid in your blood stream. 12grams a day – 1,000mg/1gr every two hours.
Nothing triggers a positive on a pregnancy test except a pregnancy.
