Does anyone know of a site that I can check out a doctor’s credentials, etc – one that is free?

I am looking for an ob/gyn in the tampa area for my daughter. I want to make sure they’re GOOD. I’ve been to some sites but they want to charge for reports. There has to be somewhere that is free!
Thank you for the info on ratemymd.com but it seems to send me to other sites….

OB/GYN ????????????????????

Ok so Im 16 years old
and I start college in January,
[I got a GED]

I had bad grades in high school
because I moved a lot

I REALLLLYYY want to go to medical school ,
and I was wondering if I can get into Miller School of Medicine
[university of miami]
after completing only two years of Daytona Beach Comunity College??
and what should my grades be during college ??

How is medical school ??
like what do you learn each year ??
and what is residency ??
do you have to compete with others while your a resident at a hospital ??

and is it hard to find a job as an OB GYN in Miami Florida ??

It would take a book to answer all of your questions, but I can tell you that to get into medical school you have to have excellent grades in addition to other accomplishments and have a Bachelor’s Degree.

After 4 years of medical school you start a residency, which is basically a job in which you learn about your chosen specialty under the direct supervision of experienced physicians who are board-certified in your chosen specialty.

Getting into medical school is competitive. Getting an OB GYN residency is competitive. Being in residency is competitive. Fortunately, finding a job as an OB GYN is not too difficult anywhere you go.

How to become a ob/gyn?

I aspire to become an ob/gyn in which I mainly deliever babies and do check ups. I also want to specialize in researching fetal developments. I need to know what would be a good undergrad degree I am thinkkng biology. Also whaty are some good medical schools and what are things I can do to make myself more competitive. Also what ismed school life ? Is it possible to work a job? Following medical school how does residency work will I get paid? And how would I go about getting a job as a doctor in Atlanta Georgia and whaty does owning at practice mean? I know this is a lot of questions and some words are mispelled but I am using my blackberry.p

Any degree in undergrad is acceptable for medical school as long as you satisfy the prerequisite coursework (Chemistry, organic chem, biology, physics, and the MCAT). Get a high GPA and MCAT, do some research, get some clinical experience, and apply to medical school. Go to whichever one you like, should you be fortunate enough to be able to choose between multiple acceptances (keep in mind each school interviews 10% of applicants and accepts 10% of those). Every school will teach you well. Med school life is very arduous. Be prepared for long days of classes, dissection of a real cadaver, monster exams each roughly the size of an undergrad final, and the equivalent of taking about 30 undergrad credit hours at one time. Studying 4-8 hours daily is required after class.

In your 4th year of med school, you will apply for an obgyn residency. Wherever you match, you go to. obgyn residency is 3 years long. Then, you are a free licensed practitioner.

You can then apply for a job in atlanta if you wish. Owning your own practice is like having a doctors office for yourself, as opposed to working out of a hospital.

Gender scan + due date question?

Good morning all!
Well I went for my 20 week ultrasound and the result was surprising – it’s a girl – so far anyway hehe of course not 100% and my OB/GYN told me he would look again in 4 weeks time to see what he could see then =) So, me being 99% sure bubs was a boy, was wrong!
Anyway, I have a question about due dates.
*My LMP makes my due date 14/09/09.
*I have had 3 ultrasounds. The first one showed the due date as the 16/09/09. The second scan showed 11/09/09. And my scan last night showed 13/09/09.
Which date do I go by? It’s so hard to keep up when it is forever changing…..
Thanks =)
DD/MM/YYYY is the format we use here in Australia.
Thanks guys =) All the dates are within a 5 day period anyway. So I guess I’ll tell people sometime around the 16th Sep!

my OB told me the first u/s has the most accurate due date because in the beginning all babies start out the same size. Throughout your pregnancy your baby will measure to its own liking and therefore if your baby is measuring a little big you’ll be ‘due’ a little sooner. I hope that makes sense… But I wouldn’t worry, its like less then 5% deliver on their due date

How do I find a good breast cancer doctor in Orlando or WInter Garden FL?

Ok, so I found a lump… I come from a Family of cancer SURVIVORS… and some cancer victims… cant win them all. Im scared as hell, and I don’t have much support, not financially not emotionally or any other way, Ive got two kids. So every1 says go to the OB GYN find out what it is then find a specialist. Well my odds of not having it are not looking good, considering family history and location and how the lump feels as well as some symptoms. so I want to find a doctor who can be there from diagnosis to remission. How do I find one of those? A good one, so if your from the area or you have experience in researching a good doctor some advice would help?

try that, it’s not in the area you specified but they are good.
