Women’s Center provides abortions from 3-24 weeks of pregnancy. We
are completely confidential. All of our records and your information are
kept in the strictest of confidence. Our clinics adhere to the highest medical
protocols and standards of the American College of OB/GYN and the National
Abortion Federation.
The surgical procedures are performed in a private physician environment
and counselors are only present if the patient requests. We will also allow
a friend or family member in the operating room with the patient during
procedures for further comfort and support.
Abortion is considered one of the safest surgical procedures. Women’s
Center has been providing abortion services for 3 decades with the highest
safety record. Women’s Center offers the following
abortion services: Menstrual Regulation
Performed prior to a missed-period. By some definitions this is not considered
a termination of pregnancy. Usually performed from a week prior to your
expected menstrual period to a week after a missed period. The duration
of the procedure is about one minute and with only minor discomfort expected.
First Trimester Abortions
This procedure is performed by vacuum aspiration in the first three months
of pregnancy. The duration of the procedure is 2-3 minutes and most patients
report only mild cramping and discomfort. Second Trimester
Abortions
This procedure is done up to the 24th week of gestation. The procedure requires
two visits to the clinic. At the first visit a special natural laminaria
(seaweed stick) is inserted into the cervix. The patient needs to return
the next day for the actual procedure. This takes 5-7 minutes.
We offer a variety of methods for pain management during the procedure and
the recovery period. All of the standard medications administered during
the procedures are included in the basic fees. Local anesthesia, analgesia,
sedation and anxiety relief are offered to each patient.
We offer extra analgesia, complete sedation and general anesthesia upon
request of individual patients and according to their needs.
Certain patients will require general anesthesia or special medication for
discomfort. All of these services are available at our facilities for additional
fees. |
